My New Baby Girl Knitted Layette

For these upcoming grandbabies I first knitted a boy layette.  Now I did a girl one.  2 of these babies are coming in the beginning of summer, so I knitted this layette for a 6 month old baby since it is long pants and I want the baby to wear it.

I used Baby Merino by Drops.  They have the nicest baby colors..

The pattern is by OGE.  They have some very cute baby patterns.

 I love the cables detail.

The booties are a pattern by Hadley Fierlinger.  I changed the cable on them to match the cable on the romper and sweater.  I also added some rows as I was using fingering yarn and so my gauge was different.

The hat is a pattern I made up.  I had to work it twice to get it right.  I wanted to use the cable on the edge so I knitted the cable first and then picked up stitches to knit the rest of the hat.

Some maybe there will be a girl coming soon that can enjoy this outfit.

T-Shirt Quilt Beginnings

I have a customer that asked me to do a quilt for her daughter out of her daughter's baseball jerseys, jackets and T's.  Here is the beginning layout of it.  I think things will get moved around yet.

We looked at my pinterest board of T-shirt quilts and she liked the ones with the shadow effect the best.   The first squares I put together were the ones that would be least likely to show up well against her sashing and border colors.

She liked them.  So I will keep going forwards with this quilt.

Plum Cardigan

Here is a new baby sweater I finished knitting not long ago.  It's supposed to be a 9 month size, but it is a little large on this 9 month chunky baby.  It has lots of room in it, so it could be a growing sweater.

I like the pattern on the front.  It makes kind of a smocking look.

Even some room in the back.

Here is my Ravelry link.
The pattern is a free one, so grab up on it.

Paula's Quilt

Lots of little foxes.

I did a woodgrain on this quilt.  It was the first time I'd ever done this pattern.  It was pretty fun.

Walk About Baby Quilt

This quilt I made for a friend's baby.  I used the Walk About pattern and some vintage looking fabric my sister sent me. It's the perfect  thing for this baby.  She likes vintage and pink and blue.
'

I   t hink it will be fun for older brother and sister to look at the pictures and see what the children are doing.

Love Entwined Progress

The last time I posted on this quilt was the middle of October.  That doesn't mean I haven't been working on it.  I've been pretty consistent working around 5 hours a week on it.
I am now on the third side of the last border.  Here are a few pics.

It is getting pretty exciting to almost being done, although it may still be a while.

I do call it my "forever' quilt.  After all, it is a marriage coverlet.  And isn't that what marriage is.
I called it forever though, because it takes forever.

A Doll, Owl and Bunny

These little prizes keep coming.  I give them away, so I need to make more.  It is fun always looking for new ones to make.
This doll became Charlotte's prize for her birthday.

See her farmer boots.  She is my little country doll.
Ravelry link.  She was a free book with lots of clothing choices.

 Owls are always popular.

And this cute little bunny with his carrot.

He even has a tail.

These patterns are all free and fun to crochet.

A Quiet Book Cover

Not only am I knitting for coming grandbabies, I decided to work on quiet books also.  I'm going to take my time as I have a lot of  time before they will really enjoy them.  So I did the cover last week for the first book.  I copied it entirely for this Russian mom's blog.  She does beautiful work.

Here is mine.

I backed the background fabric with a medium weight interfacing.  It made it nice and stiff.

It took me a couple of hours for 3 days to complete this page.  It was really a lot of fun.
Now I'm collecting pins of other pages all over the web that I like and will pick my favorites to change and copy.
The great thing is that there is no pressure to get it done right now.
